Summit Veterinary Services is celebrating 24 years here in
Holts Summit, because Dr. Dean Bates had a goal of owning his own Veterinary Hospital in the Jefferson City area.
He was raised on the family farm in St. Elizabeth and has strong ties to this area. Dr. Dean Bates and his wife attended college locally with Dr. Bates attending University of Missouri in Columbia; and Stacey attending William Woods University in Fulton. They and their children Deanna and Nathan enjoy any outdoor activities and the family pets, which include their 3 dogs, 2 horses, 1 burro and many chickens (possibly a turkey or two).
Dr. Roy Davis and Dr. Paige Roesner who share over 50 years of combined practice experience are both here on a part time basis to serve the needs of our clients. We enjoy the vast knowledge and skills that these two fine doctors bring to our clinic (their fun personalities and activities outside of Veterinary Medicine truly brighten our days as well!)
The Small Animal and Equine Hospital was built off of State Road AA in the summer of 1998 allowing Summit Veterinary Services to care for more patients; and a new cattle facility was built in 2015.
Look for a new clinic building with boarding facilities in 2019!
The staff includes knowledgeable Receptionists who pride themselves on educating the client and seeing the relationship between pets and their owners stay strong and healthy.
The Veterinary Assistants strive to keep the Doctors working efficiently and are very skilled with the animals, giving them the best of care and attention when they are in the hospital.
The Kennel Assistants enjoy the hands on daily care of the animals and we are proud that through the years, many of them have gone on to successful careers in Veterinary Medicine.
